Hideout at Papaya: the wildest week on Zrce, but be ready to queue
Hideout Festival just wrapped up at Zrce Beach (June 30 to July 3), and as always, Papaya was one of the main stages of the whole thing. Five days of pool parties, boat parties and headline sets, with names like Skream, Krystal Klear and Ben Hemsley on the lineup.
Here’s the thing though: the math just doesn’t add up in your favor. Papaya holds around 3,500 to 4,500 people, but Hideout brings over 10,000 people to Zrce Beach at the same time, spread across five clubs (Papaya, Aquarius, Kalypso, Cocomo, Nomad Club). When the lineup lines up with everyone’s favorite artist, everyone tries to get into the same place at the same time, and that’s exactly when the queues get brutal.
A few tips if you’re planning to hit it next year:
- Show up at least an hour before the set you actually want to see, especially for night shows after dinner, that’s peak time on the beach
- Daytime pool parties tend to have way shorter lines than the night events
- If your group can swing it, a table or VIP pass skips most of the standard queue
- Follow Zrce/Papaya’s official socials during festival days, they often post real time updates when a club hits capacity, so you don’t waste an hour queuing for nothing
Basically: same unforgettable energy, just budget your time smarter than the guy who spent his whole first night in line. 🌴🎶

I honestly wish someone had warned me before I booked. If you’re deciding between Hideout and somewhere like Ibiza or Malta, I’d seriously think twice.
First, everything is far more expensive than you expect. Drinks, food, taxis, boats, you’ll probably spend several times more than your original budget.
The biggest disappointment was how overcrowded it was. The festival feels oversold, and instead of enjoying the music, you’re constantly waiting in queues. You queue to get into clubs you’ve already paid for, and sometimes the venues are so full you can’t even see the DJ or get inside without waiting ages.
The music and artists are great that’s not the problem. The organization is as you can understand that spending hours in lines instead of dancing completely ruins the experience.

Just got back from an insane trip to Croatia. We completely skipped the daytime sightseeing and went all in on the nightlife. Met some great guys out there who made the trip even better. It was my first time at Hideout Festival, and it totally lived up to the hype. The music and energy were incredible, honestly flawless.
Only downside is they definitely oversold it. The festival is set across a beach strip with different clubs, and some queues were rumored to be two hours long. I didn’t wait that long, but I did a solid hour once, and when the line finally moved, the crowd started shoving like mad. Not ideal. Also, one night the heavens opened never seen rain like it but people were still buzzing and dancing in the pools soaked through. Wild. Oh, and the sheer amount of people on balloons was crazy. Everywhere you looked, someone had one.

Just got back again from Hideout with the boys and it was an absolute movie. Honestly, easily the best week of my life. Unreal from start to finish. To top it all off and mark the trip properly, we’re all getting matching tattoos! It was definitely more packed than when I first went in 2022, but the vibe was unreal. I did Malta last summer and loved it, but Hideout hits different because everything is in one square mile and the music covers every single mood.
